Collection: Myra Hargrave McIlvain

Myra Hargrave McIlvain began her writing career with a family humor column for a regional newspaper. After a move to Austin, she wrote historical markers for the Texas Historical Commission and articles for newspapers and magazines such as Texas Highways.

She authored six nonfiction books about famous and infamous Texas sites and characters. In recent years, McIlvain found her true love, historical fiction, and has published four award-winning titles.

Whether she is telling stories in her books, her blogs, or her lectures, McIlvain views history as the story of a people, and the people she knows best have made Texas home.
